Your ideal Eco-friendly, rainforest getaway is situated on the southern base of Mount Warning in the Tweed caldera, Northern New South Wales, AUSTRALIA.

Set in its own private valley with 18 acres of rainforest and bush, crystal clear creeks, private swimming holes and waterfalls, Forest Hideaway is an ideal family holiday destination, a great place to escape for a few days with your family dog or why not plan your own group event or gathering right here and have the entire property to yourselves?

We also organise regular Events such as healing retreats - so keep an eye on our forthcoming events page and book in early to avoid disappointment.

Accommodation:

Our unique guesthouses provide everything you need for your self-catering vacation.

Studios are self contained, fully fitted, including ensuite bathroom, cooking facilities, kettle, toaster, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans, fridge, etc. All towels and linen are supplied and depending upon the season, electric blankets and fans/heaters.

There are four styles of accommodation:

"Budget"
Twin-bedded or double with bunk-beds basic studio with kitchenette, dining area and ensuite bathroom.

"Standard"
Modern self-contained studio for couples with kitchenette, ensuite bathroom, dining table & chairs and timber bed, and own veranda with outdoor furniture and gas bbq.

"Suite"
Large, modern self-contained suite for two (or more with prior arrangement) with full kitchen, dining, lounge, bed and bathroom. This suite also offers adjoining dog accommodation and an enclosed dog run. Book the "suite" and 'fido' stays for free (see booking conditions in Rates).

"Family"
Self-contained unit for two to four people. Features full kitchen, dining, living, bathroom, separate double bedroom and annex off the living area with two single beds.

Facilities:

Forest Hideaway offers guests the use of a saltwater in-ground swimming pool and a facilities room which offers extra fridge/freezer space, convection microwave, washing machine, dryer, iron & ironing board.

As we are hidden away within the hills surrounding Mt Warning we do not have access to television or mobile phones. This is not a problem for most of our guests as they come here to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace, quiet and amazing night sky. The standard studios do have clock radios, while the suites have a CD/Radio available.

bush walking, horse riding, canoeing and more are all within easy reach of Forest Hideaway.

Forest Hideaway is centrally located for Mt. Warning, Border Ranges, Nightcap and Lamington National Parks.

There are a number of destinations within easy driving distance:

Uki is the nearest village, which still retains its pioneering charm and offers cafes, post office, gallery, hairdresser, petrol station/garage and pub (hotel).
Byron Bay offers colourful markets, beautiful beaches and a great cosmopolitan ambience.
Nimbin, the capital of the original 'rainbow hippy' culture still draws people from around the world.
The Market town of Murwillumbah is the local area centre of commerce yet still retains a country-town atmosphere.
Heading north up the coast, the facilities offered by the Gold Coast include theme parks, shopping malls and the Queensland 'fast lane'.

From the summit of Mt. Warning all of these places can be seen. One of the most breathtaking views of Australia!
